How to succeed in business without the help of witchcraft.

Warning: Spoilers
Veteran movie character actor Leon Ames ("Meet Me in St. Louis") makes his sole appearance as Howard McMann, the owner of the ad agency where Darrin works, and Larry Tate's boss. Tired of Darrin not giving her daughter what she feels she deserves, Endora puts a spell on Darrin that makes his ambition not only the most important thing in his life, but the only thing in his life. In a sense, she is doing both herself and Darrin a favor because through this, Endora could realize how much Darrin does appreciate her daughter when she sees the opposite and him pretty much neglecting her for business. But this isn't just about wife neglect. It's about getting rid of the boss who stands in his way, and the overly ambitious Darrin invites the McMann's over for a cocktail party (where Howard consumes far too much scotch whiskey) while ignoring the Tates.

Samantha manages to cast her own spell to make Larry and Louise pop over unexpectedly, and this helps smooth out the paranoia Larry is feeling while forcing Endora to remove the spell that caused all these problems in the first place. It's interesting to note that the set design of the Tate home has more of a feminine touch to it with Larry talking on a very hot pink phone, giving the indication that Louise was quite a flamboyant decorator. With the three different levels of McMann & Tate employees and executives there (as well as their wives), the script does deliver a fair look at older employees and their use in a changing world, yet stresses the importance of getting a younger viewpoint as well. Kasey Rogers (as Louise) and Jeanne Sorel (as Margaret McMann) give fine support and show a hidden wisdom that their overly ambitious husbands could never hope to understand. Great plot and timely situations make this an unforgettable episode.
