Great Fun
rerunwatcher21 January 2023
This is such a fun show. I really wish they still made fun mystery shows like this. John Rubinstein is so funny in this episode. His dad asks him to walk out to his car for just a second. He is wearing his bathrobe and does not want to. He goes anyway and ends up in the car and a car chase ensues. So there is poor Harrison in his bath robe in the middle of a car chase. Later in the show Harrison ends up on the hood of a taxi in which a suspect is escaping. To get rid of him the taxi runs through a CAR WASH. Haha, so much fun. I am watching a marathon of this show today. And funnily enough last weekend I watched a marathon of "Family" in which John Rubinstein played the former husband of one of the characters.

Pilot

Warning: Spoilers
The pilot of Crazy Like a Fox tried to establish the quirky premise.

A harassed lawyer Harrison Fox is pestered by his private detective father Harry Fox. Much to the annoyance of Harrison and his family.

The first episode has Nick Darnell being sent by Harry Fox to his son Harrison. He has served 12 years for the murder of his wife Julie. Now after being released he wants to kill her for real as Harry has managed to trace her.

Only for his wife who claims to have been in hiding for years kills Nick first and then claims self defence.

It turns out to be an embezzlement scam. Nick had stolen valuable antique coins that he had kept in his shoes and Julie later killed Nick for them.

An eccentric and unusual story with a mix of comedy, silliness and action. Good location shooting in San Francisco. This was an affable and interesting pilot that you do not have take too seriously.
