Quotes
-
Sue Ellen Ewing : Tell me, J.R., which slut are you going to stay with tonight?
J.R. Ewing : What difference does it make? Whoever it is has got to be more interesting than the slut I'm looking at right now.
-
J.R. Ewing : [quietly] Bobby's getting weak, Daddy. Just plain weak. Doesn't hardly sound like a Ewing any more.
[Jock nods sorrowfully]
-
Vaughn Leland : It was crooked! And I believe you knew that! You'll regret this!
J.R. Ewing : Is that a threat, Vaughn?
Vaughn Leland : No threat. A promise!
-
J.R. Ewing : [to Sue Ellen] I swear, you're heading at ninety miles an hour towards a nervous breakdown. Gonna have to do something about those ravings of yours.
-
J.R. Ewing : You've got something to tell me?
[grabs her]
Kristin Shepard : Look, J.R., that hurt!
J.R. Ewing : Fess up, honey.
Kristin Shepard : What is it?
J.R. Ewing : I want some answers from you.
Kristin Shepard : I don't know what you're talking about.
J.R. Ewing : All right, all right, I'll give you a hint. Hank Johnson just called.
[gets deer in the headlights look from Kristin]
Kristin Shepard : I didn't want to do it, J.R. Alan made me. He threatened to tell Jock about us. Our love affair. I was only protecting you.
J.R. Ewing : You think you were gonna blackmail me? You and Alan Beam? You're out of your league, honey. You're gonna be sorry you even thought of that.
Kristin Shepard : [voice quavering] You can't scare me.
J.R. Ewing : Takes brains to know when to be scared, honey. And since that's something in short supply around here, I'm gonna help you.
[ominous tone:]
J.R. Ewing : Now is the time to be scared.
[hands her cash]
J.R. Ewing : Exciting weather this time of year down in Rio. Put on one of those pretty string bikinis. You could last at least a year on one of those rich Brazilian businessmen.
Kristin Shepard : One day somebody's gonna stop you, and I hope I'm there to watch it!
[throws the money back at him]
Kristin Shepard : No way you're gonna buy me off!
J.R. Ewing : We'll see!
