The show's most controversial episode
garrard7 October 2006
Warning: Spoilers
The powerhouse nighttime soap's ratings were down and much of the blame could lie in the departure of "good" son Bobby Ewing (Patrick Duffy) a year earlier. Seeking a way to bring some life back into the show, the producers came up with an "ingenious" way of bringing him back: let everything that happened this season be part of a highly detailed "dream" by Pam (Victoria Principal).

Thus, everything that occurred in this episode from Angela Nero (Barbara Carrera) blowing up the Ewing Building with Sue Ellen (Linda Gray) in it to Jamie Ewing (Jennie Lee Harrison) expiring in an exploding car were other "figments" of Pam's vivid nocturnal images.

The last scene when Pam awakes and goes to the shower to meet Bobby standing, saying "How are you doing?" is one of television most memorable surprises and has been parodied by other shows, especially the final installment of "Newhart," ever since.

The Dream Season!
Kingslaay1 September 2020
The Dream Season has been credited for losing a lot of the viewers when it was shown to be all of Pam's dream. However I am particularly fond of it. There were some unique moments, reconciliations and great adventure. Jack and Angelica's story line, Matt's Emerald mine, Sue Ellen and JR getting along and Mark Graison being ALIVE. There were some memorable moments and it was sad it was a dream in the end. Imagine the confusion on so many viewers faces when they abruptly killed off Sue Ellen and suddenly Bobby appeared at the end. Got to love Dallas and the 80s.
