A mobster called Landek has been arrested by the police. In retaliation Lieutenant John Russo has been abducted.
A note is sent. Release Landek or within 12 hours, Russo dies.
For Captain Matt Holbrook it is a race against time to save Russo.
The only lead they could get is to bring a guy called Harvey in for questioning. A hoodlum called Hambro comes into the police station to find out just how much information Harvey has given away.
It could had been more tense, at least Holbrook had plans for Harvey. Make it look like he talked to the police about the whereabouts of Russo and thus place him in danger.
It does end up in a nice shootout as the police try to save Russo in time.
