Maguire joins the team of Division Z, to help track down and bring to book a trio of armed robbers, who have gotten away with £12k, and killed an unarmed PC in the process.
Exception to The Rule was written by Brian Clemens, a writer that brought us Thriller, among many other things, there is a definite streak of quality in the writing, for me it's one of the more interesting and exciting installments.
This is one of the better produced episodes, it looks a cut above, plenty of extras, and those authentic scenes inside The Factory look great.
All you could hope for, fisticuffs and a shootout scene, it's one of the more action packed episodes.
I felt this was once again made to double down on the anti gun rules for The Police, even Maguire is now being keen on the idea of being unarmed, despite facing a trio of armed thugs.
I love seeing the array of faces, and this time, among others, we get to see Paul Whitsun-Jones, an actor with an impressive history, but the part I'll always thing of, is his role as The Marshal on Doctor Who opposite Jon Pertwee.
8/10.
