When the story begins, Rob is sneaking out to play a round of golf before going to work. Why is he sneaking? Because the night before, Laura told him not to go because the weather is gloomy and she doesn't want him to become sick when her family is coming over for a party. Rob goes out anyway...and soon comes down with a fever, chills and he feels like dirt. Clearly this is the sort of 'sick' that happens on sitcoms.
While I was afraid Laura would DEFINITELY do the I told you so routine, the show did NOT end this way and I appreciate this. Instead, Rob essentially is like the walking dead at the party because he doesn't want Laura to know...which is kind of cute.
