30 year old public stenographer Martha Draper is arrested for the murder or her boss Harry Dawson. The arresting officer Lieutenant Killian, operates on the notion that the person found with the body is the guilty party.
I can truly understand why this episode sits at the top of the ratings, for a thirty minute drama, this managed to pack in quite a lot of content.
It's a great story, with Martha placed in an almost impossible, unfair and unjust situation, one that she cannot defend herself from. I suppose it goes to show how strong a case can be made against someone.
Ann Blyth is excellent as Martha, a cracking performance, Gerald Mohr and Marjorie Bennett were very good also.
A very well written script, Irwin and Gwen Gielgud got this one spot on.
I'm grateful to the folks at TPTV for showing this.
9/10.
