a very different performance by Joan Collins

For the first time in the series, Alexis isn't a borderline caricature wearing fanciful odd hats and hiding behind veils covering her face like she's going to some funeral, but she shows a much more human side, even letting go of those signed documents she so needed. You get a much better idea of the real Joan Collins as you watch this episode.

Is it goodbye to Karen Cellini? I'm not checking up ahead on the story, but research on Wikipedia showed that her character was written out of the story mid-season, and this must be the place, there was no Tower Bridge in the opening credits this week. Wayne Northrop and the new girl were also in absentia. Yay, so was that dreadful jazz singer. Hey, it's a game with me: The ever-changing DYNASTY cast, every episode, since the early seasons, there's (usually) some development in that regard. One's back, one's gone, new one...

The episode itself? Come on, Blake is perfectly lucid even if living in 1964. Finding out it is 1987, he doesn't inquire about (a) the state of his business (b) the health of his children (c) grandchildren yet? Believability is stretched to a critical level. All just for the viewers to see Blake and Alexis together. So, don't get me started on what a buncha far-fetched and contrived trite it really is.

Not the greatest episode for Heather Locklear fans. She looked real cute there with the phone, but the other appearances were substandard by the level set by herself. Added to this, is her character's breakdown, that bit is, of course, understandable.

Jessica Player is an irresistibly cute kid and the casting department made a great choice there.
