Everybody into the pyool!

Warning: Spoilers
I hope everyone had a nice Mother's Day this past Sunday. Today, I'm going to review an episode from Season 3. This one is The Big Move, written by Joanna Lee, one of the early episodes with Pebbles, as she was only in 5 in Season 3. Jean Vander Pyl provides Pebbles' voice (in addition to Wilma's). Doug Young plays Percy, the wealthy landlord (as well as the elevator operator Egbert) and Bea Benederet plays his wife (in addition to Betty). Howard Morris plays several parts as wel, including a bou, a bird and a monkey. There is stock music from Top Cat as well as The Jetsons by Hoyt Curtin. Barney comes over to Fred's house, carelessly throws Pebbles in the air (fortunately, he catches her)and teaches her a new phrase- "Scooby Dooby Doo!" Fred doesn't appreciate Barney teaching her such "uncultured" phrases and declines invitations to go shoot pool, play poker or go bowling. Hurt, Barney goes home. Then Fred announces to Wilma he's thinking of enrolling Pebbles at a prestigious school, even though she's too young. A few seconds later, he announces he's leasing the Flintstones' house and that they're moving to a more sophisticated neighborhood. As they get to the new home, Wilma cannot believe it. Dino doesn't join them since their landlord Percy firmly states "No pets in the house!" Pebbles accidentally breaks a vase and Percy assures Fred "Pebbles won't get the bill. You will!" The next day, the house is filled with rich strangers. A muscular "guest" throws Fred into the swimming pool. At a dinner with Percy and his wife, Fred claims he works at a Quarry (which is true), but "as a hobby." Wilma, fed up with Fred's pretentiousness, walks off. One day at the Quarry, Barney shows up. Fred apologizes for previously being such a jerk to him. As he goes home, he realizes he's sick of working so much overtime just to afford the mansion. He tells Wilma, who's miserable at the mansion, they're going "back where we belong!" Wilma reminds him of the lease they signed and Fred announces a little house party. Percy and his wife are invited and meet Betty Sue and Barney Lou, Fred's "cousins." He also meets Dino their dinosaur who they claim "That ain't no pet! He's part of the family!" Dino chases after Percy, who tears up the Flintstones' lease. So the Flintstones are back in their old house, near Barney and Betty again. Trivia: Pebbles' phrase "Scooby Dooby Doo," which she leaned from her Uncle Barney, would later be used for Scooby-Doo, another cartoon character from Hanna Barbera. What I liked: This was a funny episode which taught a lesson about being yourself and appreciating those around you. Pebbles is awfully cute leaning phrases from Barney like "Shoot pool" and "Play poker." I also liked Fred reading Pebbles his own version of Snow White And The Seven Dwarves (with the "dwarves" being huge!). Egbert the elevator operator is pretty funny, too. And the muscular caveguy who shouts "Everybody into the pyool" is a scream! Wilma is her lovable down-to-earth self, reminding Fred "These are the people you wanted to meet!" Fred replies "I wanted to meet them, not support them!" 9 Scooby Dooby Doo's out of 10 (at least the origonsluncut version. The edited version gets only 8!).
