It's true, the crow steals this episode. And he steals a lot of other things too, including Sgt. Carter's watch! I don't know much about the of training birds, but whoever trained this bird in real life did a fantastic job. He's really, really smart and it's fun to watch him do his thing.
Sgt. Carter suspects that Gomer is the thief, having caught him wandering around alone inside his (Carter's) living/working quarters. And so he sets out to investigate the crimes and prove his suspicion. Carter is no Columbo as you can imagine. He finds a pawn ticket. A-ha! A clue! Time to jump to a conclusion! Oops. Wrong conclusion. Being a detective isn't so easy.
Lots of twists and turns along the way in this very fun episode.
Keep an eye out for the wonderful scene in the pawn shop where the shop owner asks Sgt. Carter what "shazam" means.
