Warning: Spoilers
Lisa and Oliver wake up one morning to discover everyone is planning on taking Haney's "bus" to Bleedwell to try and snag high paid factory jobs with great benefits, building airplanes for the government. Oliver tries to come up with something to keep his friends and neighbors in town. He discovers that Hooterville once hosted its own aircraft factory and in fact they still have an irrevocable contract to build six more planes--1917 Jennys! Mr. Ziffel immediately gets his old job back as security guard for the plant and Mr. Douglas is made plant manager--and test pilot once the Air Force discovers they can't get out of the contract and Douglas is still part of the Air Force reserve.

A very funny, well thought out episode based on a clever idea.

Jenny Predicted Our Future

Warning: Spoilers
When this episode was written, & it is an extremely funny & well thought out episode, no one could have known an idea like this would bring us where we are today. Everybody is leaving Hooterville for better paying jobs with full benefits & a years supply of cracked crab in a new factory in Bleedwell. The town could not have been better named. The writers accidentally show what "outsourcing" does only in 1967.

This episode highlights why government is poor at running things, which really is a theme throughout this series. The government does not think of the effects of creating jobs would have on the Hooterville valley. In this case, Oliver finds that the government entered into a contract with Hooterville which is non-revocable to build Jenny Bi-Planes during World War 1. Sam Drucker sums up a politician who did it as being a "real ram-mer".

When the government finds out they are going to get 6 new Jenny's, years after the war, they send someone out to find out what is going on. The entire cast gets moments to shine with another well-written script for this series.

This series has a happy ending for this even though it does not really resolve the issue, it is funny & presents a creative alternative. As for me, I'd have left for Bleedwell because I like cracked crab.
