This was an unforgettable heartwarmer of a 2-part episode, which was also a plug for the Special Olympics. I didn't know until now that Paul Walker (who played Todd Bryant) would go on to star as that lovable undercover cop Brian O'Conner in most of the FAST AND FURIOUS movies, except for FAST AND FURIOUS: TOKYO DRIFT. His last film was FURIOUS 7 (2015), which was a parting gift to his fans. Walker still had a lot of movies left in him. Well, here's a chance to see him at the beginning of his career. At one point, his character of Todd Bryant goes off sprinting around an oval track upon finding out that he might not be adopted by Scotty and Diane Wilson due to circumstances beyond their control. Todd was certainly fast and furious that time. HIGHWAY TO HEAVEN was a terrific prime time series thanks to Michael Landon and Victor French. It was a crying shame that NBC pulled the plug on the show. Probably it was to make room for Dick Wolf's show LAW AND ORDER. At least you can see it on DVD. No thanks to NBC.
