This Laramie story involves Robert Fuller doing a job for the army who originally wanted John Smith for it. But as Slim Sherman is too well known in the area for being such a straight arrow, it's Jess Harper who gets the nod from law enforcement.
Fuller gets himself thrown in the pokey with a drunken John McIntire who maybe a drunk, but he's no fool. He wants a guide to lead him to some area where his former gang has buried their ill gotten gains and Fuller has that reputation.
They have a most complicated scheme as to how they arrive at the burial site done so to insure that no one doublecrosses anyone. Still the betrayals happen and the gang starts getting killed off one by one. No honor among this band of thieves.
The ending is kind of easy to figure out, still it's a good and exciting story.
