Beginning with season 5, The Lone Ranger was filmed in glorious color. That was quite an additional expense, but The Lone Ranger was ABC's highest rated program at the time. Longest running western Gunsmoke didn't go to color until 1966. In this episode, The Ranger and Tonto try to recover stolen funds that were to be used to build the Mary Whitecloud Indian School. They learn that the money is hidden on an island in the middle of a pool of quicksand. The bad guys are on hand to cause trouble and once again, it's proven that there is no honor among thieves. Our heroes have several tense moments in this one before the inevitable outcome.
