Everything, Everywhere All At Once star James Hong guest stars in this episode where Magnum turns forty. Yes, 40. Anyway, over a decade later James Hong directed Scandalous Behavior starring the hot Shannon Tweed.
Anyway, Magnum seems a bit directionless as he turns 40, and he wanders around Chinatown in Hawaii pursuing a reporter who catches Magnum's wandering eye.
It's hard to believe this episode is approaching 40 years of age, being released in 1987 and it's now 2023. Imagine Magnum in his 70s and Higgins getting to the age where he gets a telegram from the King.
Anyway, see this episode for James Hong's superb performance.
I felt a bit uneasy about Magnum's birthday guests donning gorilla masks and the racial subtext to it I guess.
The end credits had soulful music.
