The topic here is neuro-surgery. More time is taken up with the delicate medical procedure than usual. Still it's complex brain surgery to correct an aneurysm, so that's understandable. Cleverly, the script leads us through the operation by having a doctor-observer describe the details to a student-observer while we eavesdrop. Dark is excellent as the conflicted young husband who must help decide whether his wife, Harte, should risk the operation or not. After all, she may never have a recurrence, but then a recurrence could strike at any moment without the surgery. So it's a dice roll either way. Overall, viewers are left with the challenge of what they would do in the young couple's place.
