Grandpa Leaves Home Herman is peacefully reading a book, getting a lot of laughs out of "Murders in the Rue Morgue," when Grandpa comes by, opens the window, cracks his knuckles, wrinkles the newspaper loudly Herman gets annoyed. Who can blame him? Then Lily comes by and shuts the window. An argument ensues with Herman and Grandpa and now the moody senior citizen is issuing a "nobody cares about the broken down old man speech" again, and says he's going to leave the house for good.
Pat Priest, who made her debut last week but had no lines, has the first few lines in this episode, feeding the pet cat "who has appetite (and roar) of a lion."
Anyway, the story for the night is that Herman has no money left in his bank account after loaning family relative "Lester" $5,000. Grandpa almost faints when he hears the news. "Lester is a loser," he says, and cites examples of Lester's financial goofs of the past such as promoting the Titanic and giving the Patriot Of The Year award to Benedict Arnold.
More problems arise when Lily takes on a part-time job reading palms to help with finances, but doesn't want anyone but Marilyn to know about it. It's especially touching when she works with another man and Grandpa tells Herman he's suspicious of her behavior. He winds up getting Herman to think Lily is cheating on him!
The above subject takes up much of the episode and is only funny at the end when "Ramon" sees the Munster family, including Lester. In all, okay but nothing hilarious.
