"Hurry Brighton, we'll be late for the bris. Chop chop!"
mark.waltz1 November 2020
Warning: Spoilers
There's a lot going on in this episode with three plot points and none in command. Fran sneaks a peak at the book that Maxwell has written, giving him the confidence to try to get it published, then Brighton ends up on "America's Funniest Home Videos" with his failed attempt to film a bris that Sylvia is hosting. They end up in Hollywood where Fran disturbes the filming of a "Dr. Quinn" episode, the funniest vet friend being thrown off the set studio, and trying to sneak back on.

This is overloaded with a huge cast of guest stars with everyone from Lorna Luft to Fran's father, Mort Dresher, to Jane Seymour and Joe Lando and episode director Dorothy Lyman's voice heard yelling cut when friend interrupts the taping of "Dr. Quinn". Even Ann Guilbert get a brief cameo as Grandma Yetta, a wasted opportunity because she was such a scene-stealer. It's ironic to see Lorna Luft playing an actual character since they had a double in one episode playing sister Liza, while Barbra Streisand had several doubles as well while sister Rosalyn Kind played herself. this would have been a better episode even with the many funny moments had they focused on one story with a minor subplot rather than have too much going on in the short period of 22 minutes.
