The start of... Season 3
vex86bird16 June 2007
Warning: Spoilers
A lot of people try to pretend like season 3 of PLCL didn't exist... Being a stickler for details I watched every episode anyways. This episode kicked off one disturbing theme that would play out throughout the season in that Santa Domingo High is no longer the primary setting. While in this episode it's 'understandable' because it's the first day of Summer. We're introduced to Coach Kohler who later in the season takes more of an interest in the diner (along with Principal Grace Musso). This also introduces the character of Brad Penny (played by the late Harold Pruett). This episode in particular isn't too bad as far as some go plot-wise as there is a lot going on and the outcome isn't too predictable.

*Spoiler below!* Another common theme that pops up a lot in the season is Brad Penny's dislike of Parker Lewis. Not only is Parker not really clever in this season hijink-wise, but it also kicks off Brad beating Parker mentally and physically (Maybe that's why they no longer call the show Parker Lewis CAN'T LOSE and just stick with Parker Lewis as the title). This episode probably has one of the seasons only pranks as Parker blows up Kohler's lunch box with a cherry bomb, and then Brad takes the blame. This is a very un-Parker move as he not only perpetrated a lame prank, but cowered and pretended as if he didn't know performed the prank allowing someone else to take the hit. Yikes a weak start to a season in my opinion.

Warning: Spoilers
I for one actually like season three of Parker Lewis Can't Lose, although to reflect the change of direction in season three, the series title became Parker Lewis. I must admit, I liked most of the episodes of season three, but I didn't really like Parker's betrayal of Brad Penny (played by Harold Pruett who sadly passed away in 2002 at the age of 32), who took the rap for Parker's prank.

Anyway, here Parker wants to spend the night with Annie. Interestingly, the internet is void with post-Parker Lewis information about the actress who played Annie, Jennifer Guthrie. Anyway, season three is all about relationships, which is probably why not many fans liked season three.
