Wonderful episode with all the cast doing marvellous ensemble work together to make this great. For reasons too convoluted to go into, Duane Doberman is to be the face on the new army recruiting poster as the most handsome man at Fort Baxter. As Colonel Hall so sagely puts it: "They'll come from miles around to see what the rest of us look like."
Pure class all round, was there ever such a perfect foil and straight man as Paul Ford as Colonel Hall? The oh so gullible commanding officer but oh so likable too. There is also such an element of warmth here too as nobody can bring themselves to hurt Doberman's feelings (or his mother's!) by telling him he is far too ugly to be on the poster.
The ending is just sublime and is of course, the only answer to the problem!
