An unsatisfying ending hindered this one.

Reed Hadley starred in the successful but short-lived series, "Racket Squad". Shortly after it was canceled, he returned with another show that looked and sounded almost like "Racket Squad" but with a few minor changes. "Public Defender" had a similar introduction and Hadley's playing the lawyer, Bart Matthews, was almost like a clone of his Captain Braddock on the previous show. Fortunately, since I really like "Racket Squad", watching most of the episodes of "Public Defender" was also very pleasant. However, "The Big Steel" was not one of the better episodes of the series.

The show begins with a forklift nearly rolling over Pete Corey. No one was in the machine and it somehow rolled down a ramp and nearly crushed the guy. The man who had been driving it, Eddie, was arrested--but there really wasn't much evidence that he was responsible so the case was dropped. However, although now a free man, Eddie cannot live with his secret and he spills his guts to Matthews.

The story of how Pete had been bullying Eddie as well as how universally hated Eddie was worked for me. However, the ending just made very little sense and left me frustrated. See this one yourself and tell me what you think.
