Here is a nice western as we have all the elements. A group of renegade cowboys, a town sheriff that has little control and our good guy that is held hostage- it has the workings of a fine show.
It begins in a nearby town that seems to be controlled by a group of hard nose and lawless cowboys known as Skulls. When the sheriff arrest one of them the rest of the Skulls are bound to free the mate and take their revenge on the sheriff.
Along comes Lucas and Mark and they get kidnapped by the renegade cowboys. The only way that Lucas can free his son is to commit the killing of the sheriff for the Skulls. So Lucas and the gang head into town to take care of the sheriff.
There is a lot of things unexplored, which would have made the show much better, mainly due to the thirty minute format. So what we are left with appears to be a rush job to get the story to fit with the allotted time. Anyway the story held the interest of the viewer and ended in the usual 'Rifleman' way. Good watch.
