The Dark Ages (#5.3)

Warning: Spoilers
The Connors didn't pay for electricity and it is turned off for them. Darlene and David spend the whole night in the dark room with candles working on their comics. Roseanne wants to get birth control for Darlene but she refuses. Dan still doesn't talk to Becky when she calls but at the end he makes a call himself.

It had the usual good moments. Like when Jackie comes over and it takes her some time to realize that there is no electricity.

The story with Darlene is also good because it shows how different she is from Becky. Mainly in not wanting her mother to be involved in her birth control. And this story is also what leads to the very sweet moment of Dan calling Becky. I almost had tears in my eyes watching it.

One of my favorites!

I love the interaction between Roseanne and Jackie when Jackie comes over and is oblivious to the fact that her sister's home has no power. Roseanne and Dan are treating Darlene based on how Becky had acted in years past, and the way Darlene stands up for who SHE is, well, I think it's wonderful!

Warning: Spoilers
After David falls asleep and spends the night, Roseanne calls him by his real name Johnny instead of David.
