This is a coming of age story with a computer hacker twist. lucas is the teenage genius (kind of like wesley crusher in star trek: the next generation), in this episode all of his dreams appear to come true - new opportunities, great job, great friends, even a love interest. he has it all going, of course it is too good to be true as he eventually finds out. fortunately lucas has a moral centre and decides to do the right thing. it was nice to see some actors who would turn up again in later series like buffy the vampire slayer or star trek: voyager. the whole thing is entertaining while providing just a bit of a shock.

Warning: Spoilers
I was never going to fully enjoy an episode centred around the annoying Jonathan Brandis, but PHOTON BULLET isn't too bad. I always get a kick out of how dated any '90s film or TV programme is when dealing with the subject of computer hacking. A young Seth Green shows up here and is typecast even at his early age.
