A delinquent returns home.
kfo949431 July 2016
Frankie Niles, a very young man, returns to his hometown after spending time as a sailor traveling the seas. However the people of the town remember Frankie as a punk kid and for his delinquent acts and want nothing to do with this young man. Even family member turn Frankie away making him sleep in a stable to avoid an approaching storm.

While sleeping in the stable, Frankie is awaken by a commotion. He witnesses Jud Culver kill his brother over money. While trying to sneak out of the stable he is heard by Jud. With Jud trying to kill Frankie, he manages to break out a window and escape into the storm.

The next day, Jud runs into Frankie and tells him that if he does not leave the territory that he will tell the authorities that Frankie was the one that killed his brother. After all, who is going to believe a person that the town believes is trouble. Judd tells Frankie to leave the territory and Frankie starts walking.

Later the stagecoach, driven by Simon, passes Frankie walking on the road. Simon picks up the youth and lets him ride for free. But little does Frankie know that Jud is also on the stage. It is going to be a long ride.

There is much more going on in this story that makes for a pleasant watch. Billy Gray, that played Frankie, did a nice job and made the viewer feel for the youth. However, the acting alone could not help all parts of the story. The ending of the tale, nice as we all wanted it to be, had to be taken with a spoon full of sugar. Not to say this was a poor adventure that is not worthy of watching- but perhaps it needed a dose of reality before going near fantasy. The acting was the bright spot of the show.

Dark Return

Frankie Niles (Billie Gray) goes to sleep in a barn and sees Jud Culver kill his brother. Frankie manages to dive out of the barn and get away.

When Simon passes by on the stagecoach he offers Frankie a lift. Only Jud Culver is inside.

Learning of Frankie's bad boy reputation before he went on his travels. Jud decides to take advantage of it.

Jud and his associate plan to rob a safe in the next town the stagecoach stops at. Then blame it on Frankie. They force Frankie to be in on the plan.

In the meantime Frankie befriends Davey and his dog. He even gets Simon's trust who helps Frankie get a job.

It is too simple a story that is all too conveniently concluded. Frankie could had easily confided in Simon.
