Debut of the Pine Weasel
Hitchcoc19 August 2017
Things move along at a rapid pace. Windom's efforts to win a chess match continue. The problem for Cooper is that the Sheriff has dropped into an alcoholic pit over the death of Josie. Meanwhile Ben Horne tries to destroy Catherine's plans by introducing the Pine Weasel, an endangered species. He knows how authorities will stop excavation to prevent the destruction of an endangered species. There is also something going on as a tall beautiful woman confronts Catherine. She is really mysterious and dangerous. We are also seeing facts in evidence but disbelieved made whole by the appearance of the log lady who was apparently abducted by aliens when she was a child. This matches up with Garland. Both of them have a set of triangular marks on their bodies.

Warning: Spoilers
Well I thought we were back on track but apparently not. This episode progressed the plot pretty much 0. We got a soppy Harry who was hilarious to be fair, Windom Earle visiting people and wearing disguises but not doing much more than that, and a silly weasel fashion show. For the most part this midseason has been a bit of a mess and this episode definitely shows that. The Log Lady's appearance was definitely intriguing, but that scene must've lasted no more than a couple of minutes before that whole White Lodge storyline went untouched once again. Something needs to happen very soon is my verdict

Effects of love

Warning: Spoilers
The boyfriend of Josie cant accept that Josie is dead and will look dangerous to Cooper. Windom Earle seem to have some advance in term of planification. We will see some couples breaks and put together: like the woman in the restaurant and the woman with the great strenght and power. We see also the ghostwood project and how Catherine look like a threat to the Horne. Shelly is offered to be the miss twin peaks or something like that.

Im still not convinced by the episode: its structure, the incoherence of some scenes where the illogical thoughts are seen like mystical things and dont really enjoyed that kind of atmosphere and kind of decisions of some characters. Its pretty superficial: still have some funny moments but thats all. The tensions are non existent and the surprises, revelations, mysteries are less frequent sadly. They just introduced new characters that will gain of power with the next episodes im sure and we will notice their importance but for now its just an introduction. Need to see more.

Back on track....
Red_Identity27 August 2010
It is no secret that the show lost steam starting from episode 10 of the 2nd season, and it lasted 4 to 5 episodes, but by now, the show has gotten back on track. There are still some flaws, but the direction and writing already have the same tone and feel as it had before when Laura's mystery wasn't solved yet. The suspense is there once again, and the characters' plots are finally coming full circle. If you watch this series, and learn about the downfall in the middle of the season, don't worry, it lasts at most only 5 episodes. Plus, even when Twin Peaks was at it's weakest, it is still better than most Television shows out there. Twin Peaks is surely going to keep the plots coming!

"Wounds and Scars"
Tweekums9 June 2012
Warning: Spoilers
As this episode opens Sheriff Truman is having difficulty coming to terms with Josie's death as he declines breakfast in favour of a bottle of bourbon. With the Sheriff unable to work Cooper has taken over the running of the department; while awaiting Windom Earle's next move in their macabre game of death he deals with the paperwork involved with Josie's strange death. Windom meanwhile is furious when he sees Cooper's move; immediately realising that Cooper has got somebody else to help him play a stalemate game. Donning a disguise he goes and visits Donna claiming to be an old friend of her fathers; when he learns of this he has quite a surprise as he saw the friend drown many years before. When he opens the gift Windom left he realises who he is dealing with; it is a chess piece with the next move attached. Away from Earle's chess game Major Briggs and the 'Log Lady' pay Cooper a visit to talk about what happened in the woods and the strange makes each of them acquired there and Ben Horne's attempts to thwart Catherine Martell's Ghostwood project get underway with a 'Save the Pine Weasel' event at the Great Northern.

Too many shows kill off characters who are then forgotten by the next episode so it was good to see Sheriff Truman genuinely affected by the death of his lover Josie even after Cooper told him of all the crimes she had been involved in. The chess game is getting more exciting even though Earle hasn't killed anybody else his reaction to Cooper getting help suggests he is planning something. While this isn't a comedy series it does have the occasional laugh out loud moment and in this episode the laughs are provided by a delightful Pine Weasel that bites the pretentious Dick Tremayne on the nose during Ben Horne's big event! The best performance this episode came from Michael Ontkean who was excellent as the distraught sheriff, the episode is also notable for the first to feature actress Heather Graham, in an early role as Norma's younger sister, and ex-nun, Annie.

For the Girls' Sake

Lynch knows how to do some gracious, suave, etc.,portraits of women. We get a sample of his skills in this episode, where one has the chance to see this show's ALL four beauties (Lara Flynn Boyle,Mädchen Amick,Peggy Lipton,Heather Graham) ,three of them together.

Mrs. Graham enters the show.

"Audrey" is out for a nice picnic with guest star Zane, all is supposed to be calm, but unfortunately manages to look lugubrious,as if the two were out for a funeral, not a picnic.

Ian Buchanan is again very good and entertaining .

Towards the final,Lynch tries hard to get burlesque with the weasel stuff, but he is far from succeeding, except in a pejorative sense, the scene is disappointing, mechanical and dumb.("Moonlighting" often managed to have exquisite, tasty burlesque finals!)

I liked Lara Flynn Boyle,Heather Graham,Peggy Lipton and Ian Buchanan being in this show;for me,this is enough to provide a pretty good 5o min. show. But the rest is so fake, shallow, pointless and senseless.
