Chicago, that toddling town
bkoganbing5 September 2017
The action on this show shifts from Shiloh ranch to Chicago as Lee J. Cobb takes daughter Roberta Shore on her first trip east. It proves to be memorable for Shore as she experiences her first encounter romantically with the male of the species. Young David Macklin a cub reporter on some little known Chicago rag is the object of her affection.

The other story has to do with Pat O'Brien an old sourdough who finally struck it rich. He's in Chicago, came in on the same train as Judge Garth and staying at the same hotel, to celebrate being rich after years of eking out a living. Unfortunately a pair of con artists, Jeanne Cooper and Peter Adams know lots of ways they can help spend O'Brien's money.

The old guy is on to most of them though, a Sting like stock set up, rigged poker game, and even the old badger game. What O'Brien's not up to maid Ann Doran who took a liking to him is. She's giving her needed if not always wanted attention to him.

O'Brien and Doran play well against each other and the stories do combine as Cobb, Shore, and Macklin hate seeing O'Brien being taken.
