I disagree, this episode was meant to be a parody and it worked.

When it comes to parody I think it's better if a show or a movie concentrate on only one subject of a story or a popular fiction. Not to try to use many other movies or stories to put all together and give annoying fart jokes which would rather cause them to become pathetic and unfunny. Like those God-awful parody movies by those talent-less directors of the Scary Movie era.

But SimpsoncalifragilisticexpialaD'ohcious is simply a good example of parody from a classic movie. I didn't find the whole episode annoying. I just don't understand the other reviewer complaining about Shary Bobbins and the songs. In my opinion Shary Bobbins did give good jokes especially the self-referential joke when she yells: "I've been singing you songs all day. I'm not a bloody jukebox!"

As for the songs they're pretty good, some of them have good lyrics and good jokes at the same time. They might not be inspirational and though they're not 100% original they are still funny listening especially being parody but manage not to be too annoying to hear. I can tell you I've heard much worse musical than this and this musical episode is nothing to cringe on.

There are some pretty weird jokes too and I felt it became a bit surreal when some of the people in Springfield suddenly turned into British citizens for example Skinner and Jimbo wearing older century clothes? Well luckily it does not become stranger.

Overall this episode and it's story wasn't perfect but I think it's a nice one with good old jokes and the parody concept I prefer. Is it recommended? Indubitably yes!

A Classic Simpsons, Always Fun to Watch,

Simpsoncalifragilisticexpiala-Annoyed-Grunt-cious is a brilliant Simpsons episode with a very well written storyline and loads of very funny scenes. The episode is a very funny parody of Mary Poppins, filled with many very memorable songs and hilarious quotes from the characters. Compared to some of the other episodes in the eight season it is a bit weak, simply because it is so good, it's great on it's own but in comparison to those episodes it can appear somewhat mediocre. Maggie Roswell's voice as Shary Bobbins is outstanding, definitely the best role she has ever been given on this show, I remember the first time I watched this I thought it was Julie Andrews, if that dosen't show how good it is I don't know what does. Funny and the shows best musical episode by far, Simpsoncalifragilisticexpiala-Annoyed-Grunt-cious is very enjoyable.

The Simpsons hire the perfect nanny to help around the house after Marge starts losing hair from stress.

KKK? That's not good!

The Simpsons hire a nanny/housekeeper to take the pressure off Marge.

This is a solid episode with memorable songs.

The premise for the story is a familiar theme used several times in past episodes, with Marge stressed out from constantly wet nursing the family. In this one it sets up a Mary Poppins parody, which is quite amusing.

The humour is generally good throughout, but for me the highlights are the Krusty Komedy Klassic sketch, the Reservoir Dogs tribute and all the songs.

All characters are used well by the writers, particularly Shary Bobbins, Krusty, and Simpsons family.

For me it's a 7.5/10, but I round upwards.

If there was one episode of The Simpsons that I had to put in my top 3, this is in that list. From the first time I saw it, I have loved watching it over and over again. What s great delightful and funny episode, the singing is just great and Barney's line, "bye bye Superman" still cracks me up. This is one episode of The Simpsons that you have to watch. 10 stars.

Simps and a Nonny

Warning: Spoilers
A very good episode.

Its about the Simpsons going through a bad phase of nothing going right. Then they hire a nanny and she changes things while she sings. Then the Simps realize they don't need her so she then gets hit by a plane.

The story was fun

the characters were great

the Songs were legendary.

Verdict: Entertaining junk Television.

The Simpsons Do In Mary Poppins
Hitchcoc6 August 2022
Marge is losing her hair from the stress of running her family (all of whom have no gratitude), so a Nanny is requested. In walks a Mary Poppins lookalike who proceeds to embrace the bad habits of the family. Before long they are driving her to drink. There are some pretty funny production numbers and clever songs.

HEY Hey, KKK thats not good! - Top 30 Simpsons Episode
williamg20927 February 2024
Great episode at the end of the height of the Simpsons, musical numbers you'll remember for weeks and joke after joke, plus krusty being actually funny. And i love the hair song. Showing how crazy the family is and how easy it can be fixed. One of the best parodies they did.

"I've seen Mrs Doubtfire, this is a man in a wig!" The First song they do is a instant classic and quotable, and the butt banister waxing, seeing barney and mr burns and wille all seeing her again is amazing Even if she meets a unfortunate end shes still one of the best one episode characters.

Series 8 is full of great episodes so this being so good really shows how good it is.
