Terrible
ktgames26 July 2007
Warning: Spoilers
Im a big fan of B horror movies, I loved movies like Scarecrow, Mr. Jingles, Camp Blood etc, so as you can tell I'm fine with movies that are pretty terrible.

Onto the movie, a man gets fired from work, and ends up seeing his ex-Boss in the woods after she was almost killed by some gross fat hairy guy who gives sacrifices to god. Anyways, since both of their cars are broken down, they run into the woods, in which several fight scenes occur, where all that actually happens is that the gross fat hairy guy swings a knife at approximately one and a half miles per hour. during the second fight scene, the main guy hits the killer with a stick, causing corn with red food die to come out of his head for some reason.

And then there's the subplot of 3 witches who want to please god, and as you know, the only way to please god is to boil a pot of mud. While this wonderful gift is boiling, they tell one of the newer witches (I forgot her name, so Ill call her Gretchen, since thats the most cliché witch name I could think of) that she was supposed to have brought gold to put in the pot of boiling mud. Unfortunately, she didn't remember and after a minute of arguing remembers that her nipples are pierced, and lifts up her shirt, giving some unneeded nudity. She gets kicked out of the witch circle because she has morning sickness in the middle of the night, and gives birth to a demon baby that tears out of her stomach. The Demon baby is actually just a baby doll dipped in fake blood. Thats about as far as I got before turning the movie off.

Some other things that bothered me: The sound was randomly muted at various times. About half the film was silent, like, when she slammed the car door, there was no sound, ruining the experience. When the black guy ran, they tripled the speed, making him go unnecessarily fast. -Kyle

Nearly irredeemable
milkhole21312 October 2021
Devil's Moon is another nearly unredeemable movie from the Tomb of Terrors box set. It starts with the killing and fresh corpse-raping of a naked woman while the man chants an incantation. Next we meet the main characters an insufferable, unlikable office worker and the insufferable, unlikable boss lady who fires him. This film is filled exclusively with unlikable characters. There's two bumbling, backwoods bumpkins who try to add comic relief but just come off as awful, unfunny stereotypes. Trent Haaga plays one of them and is better than this. There's also a stereotypical token angry all the time for no discernible reason black guy who constantly spews ignorance, arrogance, racism, and vulgarity. There's also some goth chicks who want to perform some sort of ritual in the woods, apparently one of them is Tiffany Shepis but I didn't even recognize her.

The unlikable fired guy and the woman who fired him end up in the woods with the killer from the beginning and try to escape demons or something. It's very hard to tell what is going on because most of the forest/horror scenes are filmed in impenetrable darkness. The dialogue is often too low to hear but don't turn up the volume. Late in the movie there's lots of annoying screeching and screaming for some reason and it'll blow out your speakers or rupture your ear drums at high volume. Just playing the whole thing on mute and fast forward would be a good idea. There's a sliver of decency here in some gore scenes including a chest-bursting demon baby, a nice decapitation and some zombie violence. The movie actually wastes time describing how zombies act and how to kill them to a character presumably for the audiences benefit. This feels like padding in a movie that really didn't need any. At 90 minutes this is mostly excruciating and talented people involved in the low budget film industry like Trent Haaga, Tiffany Shepis, Timothy Muskatell, and Chad Ferrin should all be ashamed of their involvement in Devil's Moon.
