Warning do not read unless seen episode.
This is my fourth favorate tale in the show and ironically this tale kinda predates the film "The Shape of Water". This tale isn't so much a horror tale it mainly by it's nature more of a modern fairy tale.
At first it seems like it's typical monster fare but what I like about this story is how deceptive it is nothing is what it seems. Like two of the protagonists, mainly the girl she's an ambitous investigator that doesn't want to kill the creature but the truth about everything, I like that she's a person that asks questions first. The guy is pretty good to as he knowledgeable about the sea and care for it. I like the character designs of both of them as the guy and girl look kinda like "Arthur Curry" and "Mira" from the "Aquaman" comic series which in a way serves as a big clue to the episode.
The monster doesn't disappoint the design is the typical "Creature from the Black Lagoon" design. What's interesting is we really isn't bad as it's harmed no one, we see it's more of a protector of the sea much like "Aquaman" as we see the sea life is being endangered constantly and polluted. The real monster is the hunter himself that wants to kill the monster or capture it alive to exploit it for his own petty needs of fame and greed.
I really love the ending which I honestly didn't see coming and was actually really sweet. As an old saying goes there are plenty of fish in the sea.
