Cy is determined for Jemima to do an episode about wine, to research it, she attends a prestigious wine tasting event, there she encounters writer Acton Tindall, who claims to know the identity of the heir to the so called Damask collection of wines.
As it stands, this is the highest rated episode of the show, in terms of IMDb votes that is, and I can understand why, it's highly rated for good reason. The writing is quite superb, it's a truly great script, an idea of the heights this show was able to reach.
What a total contrast to previous episode, High Style, back to the roots of the show, a society set feature at the forefront of the story. There is a certain romance about the story of The Damask collection, what a great idea.
It's fine to me, Jemima reminds me of Morse, he had a new lady with almost every episode, Jemima has a new chap, this time it's the wonderful Larry Lamb, I rated him in this.
A good cast here, Derek Francis, Paul Brooke and Preston Lockwood are all very good.
9/10.
