The end of Series 1 and Megan Dodd's Kate.

Warning: Spoilers
Kate is attempting to get Lee into work but failing. The waste disposal is blocked after Lee tried putting a coconut down it, he wants to call in the maintenance man, but he's retired. Lee attends an interview and is surprisingly offered the job, the position means he'd have to move out of the flat with Kate. He's now the maintenance man of the Apartment block. Kate is struggling with the solitary life, and is missing Lee. It doesn't last long as she soon lines up a handsome new house mate, Lee does all he can to put him off.

Sad that it was the last episode for Kate, Megan Dodds was very funny, and her American'ness' contrasted well with the Northern humour of Lee Mack. Sally Bretton made a worthy replacement.

Really good finale for Series one, Lee Mack was great in this one, physically funny too. 8/10

Lee shows his maintenance skills as the handyman for the apartment block has retired. It is left to Lee to unblock Kate's sink.

However Lee realises with the help of Tim that he needs to get a job and move out of the flat. He does exactly that as he is the new maintenance man who has his own flat downstairs.

However with a broken lift, Lee has to lug a lot of stuff up and down the stairs. Even Tim falls sorry for him and Kate ends up missing him.

The tension of will they/won't they between Lee and Kate or will Kate get back with Tim remained unresolved. Actress Megan Dodds left after the first series.

However what made Not Going Out was the banter between Lee and Tim. Two rapid fire comedians who got the best out of the scripted lines.
