Since the beliefs that parents want to instill in their children can vary greatly, we ask that instead of adding your personal opinions about what is right or wrong in a film, that you instead use this feature to help parents make informed viewing decisions by describing the facts of relevant scenes in the title for each one of the different categories: Sex and Nudity, Violence and Gore, Profanity, Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking, and Frightening/Intense Scenes.

Sex & Nudity

Note: The number at the beginning of each section refers to how much explicit content of that kind there is in the film on a scale of 1-10. The fraction at the end of the last section is the total sum of the sections over the highest sum possible (50) and is therefore an approximation of about how explicit the film is a whole.

A woman wears tight leather wear in several scenes, and you see her kiss several different men.

Sex & Nudity: 3

Violence & Gore

Nearly constant violence throughout. At hundreds of individuals are shot, stabbed, slashed, crushed, and blown apart on screen, but most deaths are far from graphic. It maintains a cartoon sense of violence despite the carnage. Several scenes of blood (very light though) are seen.

However, there a few instances of gore. In the first five minutes, a villain is forced to wear a hot iron mask, and he screams in pain as the scene dissolves to main titles. Later on, a man has his face painfully reconfigured by nanites, and these same nanites are twice seen melting the flesh and bones of other men. At the climax, a villain is horribly burned.

During another part, you see a man have several large needles stuck into his head. You see the needles go all the way in, and it may be disturbing to some people.

It is very violent for a PG-13 movie. There are probably no more than 20 minutes where there is not violence.

Violence & Gore: 8

Profanity

Several uses of "D*mn", "H*ll", A**", B*tch" and others.

Profanity: 4

Some alcohol and smoking at a party scene.

Alcohol/Drugs/Smoking: 2

Frightening/Intense Scenes: 6

The violence is nearly non-stop throughout the movie, and a lot of it can be rather intense. When the people have their faces burned/eaten by the nanites it is rather disturbing.

An idea of how accurate the TECE (below) is: 5-10 is a little-kid suitable, G-Rated type of film (i.e. Care Bears, Sleeping Beauty); 10-15 is going to be a little harsher, but not by much (i.e. The Incredibles); 15-20 could be pretty high up there (i.e. Transformers 1 or 2), 20-25 is going to pretty darn adult (i.e. ); 25-30 is going to be a film most likely not suitable for anyone under 17 (i.e. Braveheart, District 9); 30-40 is going to be an absolutely, positively adults-only film (i.e. Saving Private Ryan, Aliens) and if a movie has ever gone past 40, then I haven't heard of it.

Total Explicit Content Estimation: 23/50.
