I thought it was very well scripted and witty. But I'm not really sure about Mel and Sue as actors.

Maybe Mel & Sue should had stuck with Bake Off and moved channels.
The first episode has a soggy bottom. They will never get a handshake from Paul Hollywood.
Mel and Sue are inept and laconic Hitwomen even though the show is called Hitmen.
The first episode starts off with one victim falling down a balcony. Well it was a hit of sorts.
The next victim is in the back of a van but it is Fran's (Sue Perkins) birthday. So for a surprise Jamie (Mel Giedroyc) has hired a male stripper but someone dressed as a spider has turned up. There is still the issue of a tied up victim while the man in a spider costume does his routine.
For the birthday party, it is only Fran and Jamie as well as the intended victim. He is still alive to party and even gets to play charades.
It is supposed to be a dark comedy. Here the dark comedy stands for 'it's not funny.'
