As Osho died just before I was born so the only way I experienced him was through video's and books. Had I known the controverse stories about him and around him (attempted murder, drug use, broken bones during "meditation" sessions, rape etc.), perhaps I would never have bothered to take a look at his books at all. They have influenced my life for a few years and I am happy to turn away from it now. Thank you for making this very personal documentary about your experiences with the Osho communes. It helps me in the process of waking up from my blind trust. I fear the statement.. "you can recognize the type of master from it's fruits", is more than suitable here

Poignant Depiction of being born into a cult
raananlr-8687525 December 2022
As someone who was raised within a cult (not osho, but still harmful), I have devoured almost every cult documentary I can get my hands on, but this one stands alone in its uniqueness. Rarely is the narrative told through the eyes of a child. Relatable for anyone who survived trauma, abuse, or coercion as a child. Trigger warning: it may be tough to watch if you haven't worked through or are working through your trauma. That said, as a child raised within a cult, this was the first documentary in the space where I could really see myself in the story and heal along with this brave woman's heroic story.
The vulnerability, transparency, and honesty of Maroesja both as a filmmaker and the center topic of the film, I cannot recommend this documentary any more than I already do.
If you have experienced similar trauma or are looking to understand this kind of coercion and trauma, this is a must watch. Raw and honest, your heart will both break and heal, all at once.
