Revealing mistakes: Jeff and Larry are eating lunch in the hospital cafeteria. Larry orders an iced tea, but the drink he receives is yellow/orange in color - looks like orange juice and is clearly not iced tea. moreFAQ

The idea of how people lie about a particular situation, when an excuse for not doing the right thing is the proper thing to do, is at the center of this funny episode.
Larry, who is seen at a locker room with his pals Jeff and Richard decides not to go to Marty's party. What he'll do is pretend he got the dates mixed up and he and Cheryl will stop by pretending they got confused. They feel they will be excused by Marty and his wife, and then they'll go to Ted Danson's party which is that night, but are shamed into visiting with the Funkhousers, thus missing Ted and Mary's party. The surprise of the night turns out to be the arrival of Jeff and Susie pretending they also got mixed up with the dates. A game of "The Newlywed Game" is played after dinner in which Larry's dream date involves Cha-Cha, Richard Lewis' girlfriend.
On the way to the Funkhousers, Cheryl begins to tell her husband how bad she feels for the people that lost their homes in a hurricane. She wants to take one family in her home to help out. Before that, Larry and Cheryl were awakened by a beeping fire alarm. He searches in vain, until he finally finds it in the kitchen, and he proceeds to whack it out of its socket.
The following night they are to pick up the refugees. Larry and Cheryl decide to make a detour and stop at the Dansons, with the same lame excuse they used with Marty. No sooner are they asked in, when Richard Lewis and Cha-Cha arrive using Larry's scheme. They arrive late at an almost empty airport. When they find their guests, Larry is surprised by their name, Black. He finds the coincidence quite intriguing, but he is not prepared for the smoking habits of Loretta Black, who smokes in the house. Her smoking will have tragic consequences.
Larry David, one of the best comic wits working on television today, shows why he is at the top of his profession. The story is well conceived and acted. His ensemble cast does a wonderful job and newcomer Vivica Fox shows, like Wanda Sikes did in another season that she will be a thorn in Larry's side.
This episode was directed by Mr. David.
