Rian Johnson is spot on in this interview

Rian provides an excellent analysis of how plot structure can make all the difference between a good movie and a great one.
I just wish that this interview was longer, so he could put forward some more examples. One that I would have added is Get Out (2017), where you know that something unusual is happening but cannot put your finger on it, the suspense builds up, then all gets revealed in the final few scenes.

Pleasant 5 minutes of information.

This is not meant to be an academic exposition of how to write a brilliant plot twist. It is just a pleasant talk about the idea of plot twists giving examples of different movies with different kinds of twists without actually revealing any spoilers. Makes me want to see some of the movies described.
Great Info for any Filmmaker - Ignore the Trolls

Rian Johnson's knowledge and references are a great tool to add to your belt as a writer/filmmaker. Ignore the low scores. There are still adult male children upset about The Last Jedi for inexplicable reasons that have nothing to do with this video.
