Hamlet
v-thea31 May 2020
Just a few days ago I was reading Hamlet for the first time. My mother tongue is not english, but spanish so imagine the task of having to read and try to understand a language which is not my own and that has evolved so much during these past centuries. So far I can honestly say, though demanding, it was quite an experience. What does Hamlet has to do with The Good Fight and specially with this episode you might ask yourself. Well, I have long suspected the creators of this show know quite a bit about literature and what draw me to make this conclusion is that in the play by Shakespeare, one the very well known soliloquies of Hamlet says the next:

"...Hum, I have heard That guilty creatures sitting at a play Have, by the very cunning of the scene, Been struck so to the soul that presently They have proclaimed their malefactions".

Hamlet, Act II, Scene II.

The writers of The Good Fight have managed to nod Shakepare's famous tragedy in the satirical work "Cocksucker Unchained". I know what you might think: "this is a stretch", but then the nod came. A Shakespeare portrait can be seen in the scene in which Marisa is talking to a group of writers.

The Good Fight is more than ever relevant today
mdianeclark24 May 2020
Someone wrote in a previous review that The Good Fight was too weird now, that they didn't care about what's happening to the characters and that they had no interest in the outcome of the plot. They even fast forwarded through parts of the episode. BIG MISTAKE! The fact that this Administration has created a culture of changing facts, exaggerating, not being held accountable for their comments, of openly chastising anyone who questions their decisions, makes this season more relevant than ever! I commend the writers for giving us hope by not having the characters give up even when it seems they have lost. After all it is called The Good Fight. I will be watching and encourage others to watch this show.

Never fails to impress!

I wish I knew what the writers are reading, who they know or how they structure their scripts!! This show is GENIUS and views like a documentary! This episode had the US DOJ written ALL OVER it! I'm blown away by the balance of character development, casting and effectively balancing it with timely and relevant plot! It's like this spin off gave themselves permission to go meta and write what they truly wanted to!! Love love LOVE IT!!

The satire is cutting

Warning: Spoilers
I could not hold back my laughter when I saw the firm satirized on stage by a disgruntled ex-associate of the firm. It was spot-on, and spoke to the impact of the influx of white lawyers into the firm. Memo 618 is still on Diane's mind, and great to see her husband (played by Gary Cole of Midnight Caller fame) reappear.

Still likeable but getting harder to watch

Directors and Producers getting a little too involved in surreal fantasy and further from being a decent legal drama with some quirky stories.

I was so excited to watch the new series but it just feels off, I just cringed watching the first 4 episodes, I feel like I'm watching a different show, I miss Diane and Lucca's dialogues from the previous series, please bring back the good wife flavour.

I miss the Good Fight
piirsquared-491478 May 2020
After watching and rewatching all the seasons of the Good Wife and The Good Fight I think this will be the last episode for me. It's too weird now, I don't care about what's happening to the characters and I have no interest in the outcome of the plot. I actually fast forwarded through parts of this episode it was so cringeworthy.
