A good opener with humour and drama in good equal supply.
It reminds me of the 80s comedy Life Without George which also had characters named Harry and George.
Several familiar faces see us through but, like other shows being filmed now, looking to see the social distancing rules is going to be a good sideline

Harry and Alice move into their new, dream, smart House, but that very night they move in, Harry is found at the bottom of the stairs.
I had hopes that this would be a mystery series, it's definitely not produced in that way, not is it made in a way that's amusing. It's melodrama plain and simple, at times it feels like it's wallowing in its own misery.
Well, what a cast, you have Joanna Lumley, Nigel Havers, Gemma Jones, Kenneth Cranham, and of course the wonderful Keeley Hawes. Despite that illustrious cast list, they all come across a little flat.
Something is just off somehow, and I can't put my finger on what it is, or why.
I will stick with it, as it feels as if there's a glimmer of something here, but this first episode was hard work to get through, it's not great, 5/10.

Finding Alice might improve. It has an uphill task.
Alice (Keeley Hawes) has moved to her new smart home built by her property developer Harry (Jason Merrells.)
On the first night, Harry falls down the bannister less stairs and dies.
It leaves Alice and teenage daughter at a loss. Alice is penniless as she cannot get access to Harry's bank account. Potentially homeless as his parents claim they now own the house.
Written by Simon Nye and co-created by Hawes. The tone is all over the place. Is this supposed to be a drama or a black comedy?
The acting was awful at times, a sign that the director did not know how to pitch it for the opening episode.
I just found the characters hard to believe. A poor opener.
