Fascinating documentary film.

I don't know too much about the details of how this documentary came to be made but it's one of the best I've seen on the life of Charles Dickens that great writer of the 19th century. The film is made in black and white and uses just narration and reenactmentsto tell the story of his life. The documentary choses to focus much more on the difficult and troubled aspects of his personality stressing the idea of Dickens as a man constantly restless and haunted by his childhood misery. My favourite part actually were the readings done near the end where we get to hear some of the original passages of the book. The documentary also explores a little each of his novels and why some of them were so good.
