Mother!

Warning: Spoilers
I first saw Martin Freeman on screen as an adult movie star (paired with Joanna Page) in Love Actually all those years ago. He's come a long way since then, and now in 2020 he plays Graham, the role originally played by Alan Bennett in the original run of Talking Heads. Graham is very attached to his mom, and resents the fact that Mr Turnbull has proposed marriage to her. Mother!

Slightly disappointed

Martin Freeman gives a solid performance and maybe it's what the Director asked for but for me the pacing is too fast. Lacks the punch of the original performance by Bennett himself. Entertaining without quite hitting the mark.

Chip in the Sugar

While it's nice to see some of the original monologues redone, you also risk an unfavourable amount of comparison between old/new.

Unfortunately despite Martin Freeman trying his best, the original comes out still feeling more engaging and enjoyable.
