Warning: Spoilers
The recap before this episode began on Netflix was not extensive enough as I still struggled to remember a lot of the details about what exactly went down in the previous two seasons.

The show is watchable, the dynamic between the two leads is strong, but there does not seem to be a surplus of laughs here. It is still supposed to be a comedy at heart, but the laughs are really just not there. I appreciate saying "Bad News Bears" instead of "Bad News" was much as the next guy, but that's not groundbreaking enough in 2022 to make me truly chuckle.

Glad to have the show back, but be better than this.

All Over the Place

The mile-a-minute series DEAD TO ME returns and it's again a mile-a-minute, it's again and a hit-and-run, deliberately going back to basics, hence the title of the episode, but it's a bit too fast for the viewer to catch onto all that's... coming at them...

The characters are all speaking in the same way that only Linda Cardellini's character did naturally:...

Speedy cadence, quirky delivery, sarcastic yet genuine optimism and basically all over the place, including the female cop, who was headstrong and by-the-book before: Making both Cardellini's Judy and Christina Applegate's Jen have to lie their way out of trouble... And she's just not very natural at being whimsically cute and offbeat...

Alas the series now seems not only familiar but redundant; yet this is only the first episode. Hope it improves, and gets less complicated.
