Debut episode of Hanna-Barbera's 'Josie and the Pussycats'. Although this series aired at the same time as 'Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!', and indeed a few years later would crossover with 'The New Scooby-Doo Movies', Josie wasn't a horror-themed show as such. But touches were sometimes there; in this instance we get ships unexplainedly disappearing at at sea, and a villain voiced by a Boris Karloff soundalike.
The Josie group dynamic is sometimes more snarky than that on Scooby, but it's mostly good-natured. Interesting to note that Casey Kasem voiced the Pussycats' manager, Alexander, with the exact same voice he used for Scooby's Shaggy. The Pussycats happily flash their legs in short skirts and stage outfits - and I've realised I'm still in love with Melody. Realistically, this is a 6.5/10, but God it was good to see it again!
