A totally forgotten crime thriller film
searchanddestroy-114 October 2018
Typical from the late sixties or early seventies, and of course full of references about revolutionay ideas, hippies stuff, this is the tale of a bunch of left wing oriented punks in their twenties who pull an armored truck heist where the guards are killed and one of the hoodlums badly wounded. In their escape, they take shelter on a sail boat lead by a father and his son. They want the boat owner to bring them to Algeria, where they'll be able to use the loot for the local revolution. But in the meantime, they have to eliminate their wounded accomplice who is in the hospital. I repeat, this movie is full of clichés from this era, badly done, but generous in the mean. It smells - and not sucks - this period of the counter culture. A good time waster for those who love the sea and the tragedy that it may provide. But it's not DEAD CALM. Title song and lyrics by Michel Fugain.
