The episode starts with Sam apparently going slowly crazy and once again the viewer starts to feel sorry for her...until she shows Dan her origami and we realise that it's actually all an act for her benefit. It seems to have backfired on her quite spectacularly:in addition to having to drop the charges against Susan, it's got Karl being suspicious and Dan deciding their baby isn't safe with her.
Meanwhile, Zeke continues to go off the rails...except, er, he doesn't. Rachel comes across as quite patronising and considering the number of times Zeke has been the butt of everybody's jokes it's not hard to see why he feels the way he does.Declan acts as though he's the one in the right for behaving like a violent jerk and Zeke's the one in the wrong for stopping him.Meanwhile, Bridget gets ever more self-obsessed and Donna gets a phone call that could well turn out to be significant.
And Steph notices that the "new her" is the sort of person who'd date Harold and decides to go back to being herself. All of which leads her into a tricky situation with a new character who, in a nice piece of early disclosure, we already know is hiding a secret from her.
