An average suburbanite guy (writer/director Chris Lumb) deals with his unhappy wife (dumpy frump Natalie Smeaton), a nasty rival neighbor (they race to the train station and have a duel using umbrellas like swords!), a frantic workplace, and even a pesky alien invader throughout the course of a typically humdrum day. Lumb delivers a spot-on snarky and sidesplitting parody of both 50's suburban complacency and educational documentaries that comes complete with scratchy black and white cinematography, a snide narrator making condescending remarks, appropriately cornball canned music, and chintzy (far from) special effects. Better still, the humor is extremely droll, bawdy (the naughty acronyms are especially hilarious), and politically incorrect to the ninth degree. Among the useful bits of info contained within are how to keep the wife in line (smack her around), what to do in case you catch fire on the job, fun things to do at work (dancing, exercise, and engaging in a quick fistfight with a co-worker!), and the proper way to fend off an evil extraterrestrial (offer the foul fiend a cup of tea!). A total hoot.
