A well written romcom movie . Most of the romcom movie I had seen were mostly weak in script , but Ante Sundharaniki was very well written . Especially first half , the way the narrated story in non linear literally made me surprised . Movie runtime was around 3hrs , not even in single place I felt boring or draggy . Comedy worked very well . Vivek Athreya as director and writer done a great job . Characterisation for each and every character was well designed , the way they established characterisation in first few minutes of movie made more intresting . Naziriya and Nani both were so impressive with their performance . Overall a well made romcom movie to watch with your family and friends . Please don't miss it .

Logically written script ... Must Watch

Ante Sundaraniki ... long plot, logically written, compressed beautifully into a fast narrative, and all actors leveraged to their hilt. 8/10 is a certainty, without doubt. The movie is not as comic as it is previewed to be because there are some serious moments you will be transported into, wishing what-if frequently, lending your critical mind to both the lead actors, living the movie, which is what prompts me to rate it 9/10. I may see it again, if I get hooked onto the songs. Nazriya and Nani can do more movies together - no chemistry - but have done their roles exceedingly well. A few actors unknown to me got an opportunity, good for them, and they have done very well. Vennela Kishore is not there, but still the movie has a few "rolling on the floor" scenes.
Must watch, in theatres, because the pace of the narrative requires a solid sound system.

Loved the director, comedy, action of Nani and nazriya

It's been a while people laughed so much in a movie theatre! Director has done a great job on the comedy scenes, screenplay! Loved Nani's action, his free flow acting. Nazriya's action was awesome, the way she carried the emotions, looking forward to seeing her more in Tollywood! Loved it.
Quality filmmaking

One of the finest rom com films...a refreshing experience... people complaining about length needs to understand that the director gave depth and conflicts to establish each character right from the beginning which is very rare compared to the so called superhit telugu comedy films...the film never felt long because of the excellent cast, screenplay, dialogues, music...I enjoyed it alot and feeling proud that this is what a quality telugu film looks like... watching it again!
Best RomCom in last few years.

You got to see the movie to believe what can be done in Rom coms in Telugu movie industry. Really heart touching and fun . It keeps you on the edge while making you laugh aloud. Every person has done a amazing job of acting, well hats off to the director and story. Loved it.
Has Plenty Rewards, but Really Tests Patience

Ante Sundaraniki is a new-age rom-com which tells the story of Sundaram, who keeps lying his way to marriage with a Christian girl. The resulting drama is about how he comes across various obstacles, and so on to get the girl is the crux of the story.
I'll list the negatives first, so the positives stand out.
First, it takes around 1 HOUR TO ESTABLISH OUR PROTAGONIST AND HIS LOVE INTEREST!!! And that too, it just bobs around back and forth, with some ambiguous dialogue and action which tries to build intrigue of Sundar's story, between the present, the past, and another past; all confusing us with the timelines for an insubstantial story. It bloody introduces the dramatic premise and situation at around 1hr 10 mins into the movie, and I was literally zoning out by that time. The tighter edit of the first 1hr could have made the movie more enjoyable.
The second, is the bloody BACKGROUND SCORE!!! It seems to blare every second without a break, and it really frustrated me. Couldn't even hear half the dialogues because of it. Vivek Athreya doesn't know when to let the moments be quiet and let them breathe, and when the music should be let free. It just keeps blaring every second, and that desensitised me to any meaningful emotion.
Thirdly, it was the constant cuts (combined with the unmemorable music of Vivek Sagar), and the implication of chaos that just disoriented me, especially during the first hour. It just felt too chaotic for a romantic comedy. As if a drugged out Michael Bay directed an Indian rom-com.
Lastly, I could feel jack sh-t for the romance between Nani and Nazriya. Zero freaking chemistry at all. They just lie on each other's shoulders and go. That's it.
I get it, Athreya, you're trying to be complex. We all want to be. But someone should've knocked you on the head, and told you to be to the point, and take it slow. But you misinterpreted the opposite, and made us suffer through the chore.
But to take the positives out, the cinematography by Niketh Bommi is pretty good. Visually immersive and saturated, the world of Sundaran drew me in, if not, for sometime. Even though it weirdly looks like advertisement cinematography - high contast and saturated.
The second half picks up well, with interesting obstacles, and pretty good humour. Watch out for that sexologist scene with Rahul.
The actors did their part pretty well, excluding the child actors. Kid Sundaram danced well though.
And yeah, that's it. There wasn't anything that really stood out in this film, except some forgettable jokes. Really wanted to switch off the film 45 mins through, but struggled to keep going. And yeah, there are some rewards, but nothing worth to spare you valuable time to sit through. Can probably watch it for the signature Nani acting, some humor and the striking cinematography.

Perfectly romcom with emotion and connectivity

Superb, full on entertainment, mixture of everything Comedy, romance and emotions , mind blowing acting by the cast and brilliant directing. Touched the heart and very relevant to our society. The movie depicts and demonstrates brilliantly how a couple will face hardship in a situation like this, where both don't belong to the same caste, religion, and we come across this our every day life. While including the right dosage of comedy and entertainment.
Decent one

This story is for mature audience

There is a reason why I given 10/10 to this movie...because...the story and the screen play are blended as perfect as a whiskey of 20 years old ....
You can ask why whiskey, because only mature(of alcohol) people can find the difference in the taste of 20yr blended with normal cheap whiskey...
So when people watch this movie... I would say this is not 18+ but it's actually 18+... People below 18 can find movie great with it's twists, comedy, the flow of the movie..but can never find the actual story unless they are more mature.... The screenplay is awesome....the story written by "Vivek Athreya"..is like "Kiraak".. The production team used the actors ..like 100%... As usual we can see Nani in all emotions(happy, sorrow, excited, demotivated, confused,...etc) and he showed those in a natural way.... Go watch this movie in theatre..because it's long(3hr 10min) and you shouldn't get distracted while watching it.....

The story of the film is passable, with interesting characters that engage the audience. However, the screenplay tends to be lengthy, resulting in moments of lag.
While there are instances of lags and drags throughout the film, a few funny scenes and the emotional climax manage to make an impact. The production values are decent, adding to the overall quality.
Nani delivers a good performance, although it may become monotonous in certain scenes. On the other hand, Nazriya's appearance does not live up to her previous standards, and her performance falls short of expectations.
The music lacks impact, but the cinematography is well executed. Unfortunately, the editing leaves much to be desired, detracting from the overall experience.
Vivek Atreya's direction brings a fresh approach to the film.
Considering the drawbacks, it may not be worth watching in theaters. It would be better to wait for its release on an OTT platform.

Waste of time

This is typical story which we have seen many times in the oldies. Too long film which gives nothing out of it . A below average film with nothing to offer. The film runs close to 3 hrs and old time love story. We are fed up with such love stories ( inter religion) . The movie is too dragging and we loose our patience in watching the whole film . Now a days IMDB rating became untrustworthy.
Definitely Worth It!

A complete directors movie with gripping screenplay

Story is routine but screenplay and direction is new and impressive, that's the reason you won't feel bore in the 3hrs. Situation comedy is nice. Sundaram and Leela characters narration and performance is too good. Remaining all other supporting artists got their space and justice to their roles. Many sensitive scenes but director handled wisely with precautions. Perfect example of handle with care. Vivek Sagar BGM is too good in pre climax scenes. Will go this movie again.
Watchable but 3 hours is too long

Movie was beautifully written and was way better than all the movies that has come recently. Nani and Nazriya were brilliant, all other artists did good job and justified their roles. I am really impressed with how Vivek handled the movie and his stories are always refreshing and have their own style.
Will be eagerly waiting for vivek's next one!

This is a normal rom com with a great screenplay and performance from all characters. The plot twists are predictable but it keeps you engaged. The music is just brilliant and elevates the scene to a great level. Do watch!!
Lagging journey

Actually, the story is simple but the screenplay is making confusing and there is no result also. The movie could have trimmed to 2 hours. Songs also doesnt made an impact. Overal, an average attempt. If you have time, go and watch on ott.
10/10 I Satisfied watching the movie

We need to protect such movies
piyax-2234912 June 2022
It is a hilarious ride with strong emotion running beneath the story. As usual screenplay has an Athreya mark. I am startled by the numbers and I think we need to actively promote such movies so that these kind of stories are told in the future.
