Alloy Digital has found a buyer for two of the web series it showed off during the most recent Digital Content Newfronts. The multi-channel network has partnered with advertising media company GroupM, which will find brand partners for upcoming debut Encore as well as the second season of Edm-focused reality competition series Chasing. GroupM, whose collection of agencies combine to make it the largest ad media company in the world, has previously dabbled in web productions. It helped bring noted web series In The Motherhood to ABC in 2009, and, later that year, partnered with Yahoo to create scripted web content years before the launch of Yahoo Screen. This time, its partnership with Alloy gives it a chance to pair its brands with a couple of shows aimed at the network's bread-and-butter--the 12-34 demographic. The two programs partnered with GroupM are Encore, which is set at a high school reunion, and Chasing,...

Heading into Us cinemas this weekend, The To Do List has all the promise of being one of the funniest films of the year, with the ever-brilliant Aubrey Plaza front and centre as the young lead.
The comedy has been likened to as quintessential a teen (gross-out) comedy as American Pie, and that really speaks for itself. So if you’re looking for a comedy alternative in American cinemas this weekend, opening opposite the action fare of The Wolverine, then The To Do List looks like a very strong bet. And as the film heads into theatres, CBS have released a great new red-band supercut trailer, via Yahoo Movies, to give you a helpful little nudge.
Set in 1993, valedictorian Brandy Klark wants to shed her uptight image before college, so she assembles a to do list of all the “activities” she missed out on in high school. Quickly realizing that...

Jenni Konner is positively thrilled to be part of "Girls." The veteran television writer and producer (she got her start on Fox's "Undeclared," and also worked on ABC's "In the Motherhood") became aware of Lena Dunham through the 2010 indie film "Tiny Furniture" and parlayed her super-fandom into executive producing Dunham's new HBO series. If the pilot episode of "Girls" (Sundays at 10:30 p.m. Et on HBO) made you feel like everyone involved genuinely loves working together -- both onscreen and off -- that isn't a coincidence.
"[Lena's] naked in a bathtub going, 'Ok, let’s go again,' and asking the makeup girl how her night is going," Konner told HuffPost when asked about on-set harmony. "I've seen her in the darkest moments and she still is kind to everybody."
That kindness has been mirrored by the critical community, which has hailed "Girls" as one of the best new shows of 2012. Starring,...

Sunday, April 15 is a momentous day on the calendar this year. Not because of taxes. Not because we appear to be trembling on the precipice of spring. Because a program called Girls premieres on HBO that night at 10:30 p.m. written, directed by, and starring Lena Dunham, that tells the honest truth about female friendship when we're in our 20s; a truly unvarnished look at all the blood, sweat, and tears incumbent in such relationships. Make no mistake -- all three bodily fluids are there.
Judd Apatow (whose producing credits include Bridesmaids, Get Him to the Greek, Forgetting Sarah Marshall) and Jenni Konner (In the Motherhood, Help Me Help You) are co-producers. Bruce Eric Kaplan (writer and co-executive producer on Six Feet Under) and Ilene S. Landress (executive producer of a little show called The Sopranos and also of Mildred Pierce) are co-executive producers. In addition to Dunham herself,...

Squarely in the category of “things about to air that you haven’t heard nearly enough about” is HBO‘s Girls. It looks to be quite the clever piece of fun, and premieres April 15th, and both of those ought to mean that you’d know the show inside and out by now.
Well, the show has a new poster, so I figured it’s about time to give you some info. By the way, if you haven’t seen Tiny Furniture, do so. If you have, be more excited for this show.
New Comedy Series Girls, Created By And Starring “Tiny Furniture” Filmmaker Lena Dunham, Debuts April 15, Exclusively On HBO
Hannah, Marnie, Jessa and Shoshanna are trying to figure life out. Theyʼve been living in New York for a couple of years, but theyʼre still not sure what they want – from boys, from each other, from themselves. And things arenʼt getting any clearer.

Lindsay Lohan has perfect comedic timing; her presence onscreen lures you into her character's world. In her latest film, Lohan plays Thea, a struggling twenty-something that pretends to be pregnant in order to save her job. Whole heartedly committing to the lie, Thea allows herself to get roped into outrageous situations like birthing classes, pregnant pool parties, and frequent trips to the baby store, which makes this movie hard not to watch. The quirky comedy begins with a bang and ends with a burst and will have your laughing the whole way through... A large part of the film's success is because of the brilliant comedians involved; the cast of Labor Pains reads like a program for The Comedy Store or Saturday Night Live. If you have ever had a wacky boss, Chris Parnell will make them look tame and Lisa, played by Cheryl Hines, will remind you of your favorite coworker,...

There's just no love for the mommies of ABC's cancelled sitcom, In the Motherhood.
Starring Cheryl Hines, Jessica St. Clair, Horatio Sanz, RonReaco Lee, and Megan Mullally, In the Motherhood debuted on March 26th. Coupled with Samantha Who?, the first episode garnered mixed reviews from critics.
Unfortunately, Motherhood premiered opposite a special Thursday night episode of Fox's American Idol. The hugely popular reality series aired that night due to being preempted by the President's address earlier in the week. Motherhood's first episode attracted just 6.69 million viewers and a 2.2/6 rating/share in the 18-49 demographic.
The following episodes' ratings were even worse and to little surprise, ABC cancelled the show and pulled it from the schedule after just four episodes.
ABC started burning off the remaining three episodes last week. But, because the ratings were so poor -- 2.69 million and a 0.7/2 -- they've yanked the sitcom from the...
