Tica Ti Tica Ta was another entertaining Soundie that I found on YouTube

Warning: Spoilers
Just found on YouTube this Soundie featuring a forgotten '40s female vocalist named Ginger Harmon with the Mercer Brothers dancing as Harmon sings "Tica Ti Tica Ta" playing someone who can't choose which of the handsome brothers she likes best. Written by another singer named Louis Prima-who I remember best as the voice of the orangutan in Walt Disney's The Jungle Book-this music video of the time that often was played on a picture jukebox called the Panoram is basically the singer just warbling while the brothers do their dance which then culminates in other male and female dancers joining in. Quite entertaining for anyone curious about these rarities that keep turning up on YouTube and other sites. So on that note, I'm recommending Tica Ti Tica Ta.

Ginger Harmon sings the title song, and the Mercer Brothers dance a bit in this soundie.

Soundies were short films, about three minutes in length. The were meant to be played on a machine called a Mills Panoram, a video jukebox that was typically to be found in bars, lounges, and similar venues. You put a dime in and got a performance from the ten on the machine. The movies would be changed weekly, and from 1940 through 1946, Mills and other companies produced more than two thousand soundies.

They came in a large variety of types; mostly musical numbers, although there were occasional comedy shorts. This one purports to be Latin American, and while Miss Harmon's voice proclaims she's not from anywhere south of New Jersey, the costuming and the conga that the cast breaks into towards the end says otherwise.
